Creekside Middle School Band

Dear Band Parents,             This year the bands  will be traveling to Crystal Lake for the I.G.S.M.A. District 9 Organizational contest on Saturday, March 14th. The performance time is listed below. We will need to depart Creekside at 12:46  p.m.   All students need to ride the bus to and from Crystal Lake. In rare cases, exceptions have been made. The exception must be discussed with Mr. Eriksen  prior to March 13th. We will also need 4-6 chaperones for the bus trip. This performance has been on our calendar since September and is a required performance to meet the expectations of the class.

Middle and High School students and their parents are invited to attend “Beyond Academics” – a discussion of topics and issues that students may encounter in high school that can affect their academic performance and mental health.

Illinois State Standardized Testing

Over the course of the next several weeks, District 200 students in grades 3-11 will be taking state mandated assessments.  Attached are letters that provide information about the testing schedule as well as tips on how parents can help their children come prepared on testing days.

New Family App Provides Parents with Easy Access to Information

We are pleased to announce the availability of a new school communications app for smartphone or tablet. The Family App is an extension of the eSchoolPLUS Home Access Center currently available for parents of middle and high school students. The eSchoolPLUS Family App, available to all parents, will provide attendance and fee payment information, as well as the ability to email teachers from a phone. Middle and High School parents will also have access to information about student assignments and course grades. (This feature is currently being developed for use at the elementary level.)

Illinois 5Essentials Survey

This year the Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered to students in grades 6-12. The survey is designed by the University of Chicago and is being used by the Illinois State Board of Education as part of the state’s school accountability process. The survey gathers information about the school’s learning environment from the perspective of the teacher and student.

SHAPE Woodstock Event Rescheduled for April 9th

We are happy to announce that the SHAPE Woodstock workshop with Paul Zientarski has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 9th. Inclement weather on January 8th forced the cancellation of our original program, and we are grateful that Mr. Zientarski is able to reschedule with us for April.  Zientarski is the  founder of the Learning Readiness Program for Naperville School District 203.  He will discuss how he and other educators have made a difference in the lives of students through exercise.

As professionals dedicated to safely transporting children, the care and protection of our students is always on the minds of the D200 Transportation staff.   As winter approaches (bringing with it winter driving conditions), the Transportation Department would like to remind all D200 families of some important safety guidelines.
