Band students entering 6th and 7th grades will be provided again with a summer band camp in Woodstock. The camp will be held at Emricson Park from July 9th-13th, from 10am to 1pm, concluding with a concert on Friday, July 13th at 7:00 p.m. in the Woodstock Square. The concert will be the culmination of the week of practice and fun. The camp is run by the District 200 Band Directors.May 2, 2012
For even the most successful students, the long summer break can lead to a drop in the level of skills in core areas like reading and math. For students who are already struggling, the problems with skill retention are even greater. This summer District 200 will offer a new “Virtual Summer School” program to help students retain the level of proficiency achieved during the previous school year.April 27, 2012
What is Kids College? - An individualized summer online program for students in grades 2-8 in reading, math, language arts and science. The choice of Kid’s College was based upon numerous research studies showing improvement in achievement and the appeal of the program for today’s digital generation. Student’s correct responses to the activities are reinforced by sports video games and competition as an online management system tracks each student’s progress on common core standards.April 18, 2012
